This was a very complex medical case decided in less than 15 min. IMO, it appears some of the jurors did not understand the case or the questions they were to deliberate on. Case in point, juror #587.
One major problem is that our judicial system was designed in the Middle Ages, when most people were illiterate and highly specialized medicine did not exist. Most judges AND jurors are not sufficiently educated on the issues involved here. And to top it off, there is no testing of intelligence and the ability to process information given to prospective jurors. One of my fondest memories of jury selection was my mention to the attorney for whom I was working that one particular juror appeared to be demented to some extent. The attorney said that he was not worried about that guy because that is the person you need because he does not think. He said that the juror to avoid is the one who can think independently. FRIGHTENING!
As an MD, who has intubated hundreds of patients, as I see it the loss on this case was in large part (if not all) due to a failure of the plaintiff attorneys to discuss when and why patients should be intubated and the medical indications for doing this life threatening procedure. This is not a simple issue and most people, including most attorneys don't fully understand what it is all about - and that certainly appears to have been the case her. Frequently what I have observed is that attorneys frequently THINK they understand the medical issues BUT they don't. If her attorneys really understood what was going on they should have been able to explain it.
Judges accept bribe money all the time. And they have “six ways to Sunday” to manipulate jurors into the “correct” verdict. Just sayin. I prayed so hard for God to help Grace get justice. For her & her poor family who have suffered so much. This is devastating. What is wrong with people?
I stuck around for about 30 minutes after the jury was dismissed and expected it would take at least a day, so went home Others told me it was about 1.5 hours before they finished, so I think something is off in the 15-minute deliberation time. Still way too short.
I took the time codes from the live feed. It was about 16 minutes in total before folks were called back into the court room (because the jury had verdict), but it was about 30 minutes or so in total before the court announced the jury had a verdict. Feel free to double check the time codes.
Cindy, Grace's mom, said the judge spent more time explaining the instructions to the jury than the jury spent deliberating.
I dunno…. Something smells…. Just to be sure, monitor jurors finances for the next year or so….. Yeah, I am very jaded and distrustful of people and ethics and the lengths evil will go to “win”…. Also, how many jurors or their family members were jabbed??
Mind-boggling! It shows the twisted bureaucracy & corruption within our court system. Praying for The Schara Families' ability to press onward and forward in this legal web while continuing to walk closely with the Lord.

I have been a juror in a murder trial that was far less complicated and it took several hours to decide the fate of the three accused of the crime. 15 minutes is outrageous. The verdict even more outrageous.

The Devil is in the Details.
Yes and the lawyers did not go into those details. They should not have lost this case.

che vergogna.... sembra di vedere quello che è capitato a me in italia.
solidarietà con i genitri♥
There are so many things wrong about this case they’ll win on appeal… IF they can get a good appeal judge!
They need lawyers who know what they don't know....learn it...and then explain it to someone else who does not know.

I don’t know how you see that evidence and arrive at this decision.
The judicial system has failed it's duty, I found out this a few years ago, personally.
Our hearts, prayers and testimonies live on with Grace and her beloved family and friends.
Always appeal, but at least you know.
Never give up, a great injustice has been done to many.
There are many other paths,
it's always the hard and narrow one. 🙏😂.
Warm regards,
Michael

15 minutes deliberation for a case like this?? I hope someone will be checking the finances of the judge and jury.

I am so pissed & sad to read this.
Shocking. I didn't watch the trial but I have read about the family's complaints in regards to Grace's treatment.
